What is the daily schedule for school?
We look forward to welcoming students to campus!
NVUSD elementary schools have aligned start and end times for the 2022-2023 school year. This change provides consistency for families and allows for streamlined transportation of students. With middle schools and high schools also aligning start times, families with students at multiple levels (for example a student at both elementary and middle school) will have space between drop-off times so all students can arrive safely and on time for school.
Start times for TK-5th grades are 8:05 am, 8:25 am for middle school, and 8:35 am for high school. The school day ends at 12:35 pm for TK students, 2:10 pm for 1-5th grade students (except for early dismissal Wednesdays, 12:45 pm), 3:00 pm for middle school students (except for early dismissal Wednesdays, 1:30 pm), and 3:30 pm for high school students (except for early dismissal Wednesdays, 1:40 pm).
Each elementary school site will communicate Kindergarten start and end times.
Please keep in mind the first three days of school (August 17-19) are early release days.
TK - K will vary by the site for the first two weeks, please refer to their web pages for the most accurate schedule.
Grades 1-5 (including grades 6 and 7 at Browns Valley and Shearer) will be done at 12:45.
Middle School will be done at 1:30.
High Schools will vary by the site for the first three days, please refer to their web pages for the most accurate schedule.
Will NVUSD food service provide lunch?
An exciting school year is ahead of us, full of positive changes and delicious, healthy food!
The State of California was the first state to pass a new law that allows all students to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost - regardless of household income status! NOSH will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at our schools this year.
NOSH will also be offering Breakfast in the Classroom at the start of the school day at every K-8 site. This type of program is proven to increase student concentration and build a sense of community while decreasing behavioral issues and trips to the nurse’s office.
Lastly, by October, NOSH will have two new kitchens in the district at Bel Aire and Napa Valley Language Academy to support our growing and constantly developing scratch-cooking program!

All staff who directly supervise students possess appropriate knowledge and experience and receive ongoing training. In addition to academic and enrichment elements, the program may include support services that promote student health and well-being.
