Safe Routes to School Survey FAQs

  1. When will they conduct the survey? / When can I expect to be contacted?
    Phone calls and/or invitations to complete the survey online will be sent by EMC Research before the end of the school year. The survey will be offered in both English and Spanish.  We hope you can take a few minutes to complete the survey and make your voice heard. Your responses will stay confidential and will not be linked to any personally identifying information.
  2. I was contacted/invited to participate in a study about getting to and from school—is this legitimate?
    Yes! We have partnered with the Napa County Safe Routes to School program and EMC Research to better understand how students get to and from school. We hope you can take a few minutes to complete the survey and make your voice heard. Your responses will stay confidential and will not be linked to any personally identifying information.
  3. Who is EMC Research?
    EMC Research is a professional research firm that conducts opinion research on a variety of topics. As a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the Insights Association (formerly Marketing Research Association), EMC Research is a trusted scientific research firm that will protect the confidentiality of individual survey responses any other personally identifying data associated with this study.
  4. Should I take the survey?
    Absolutely! Your thoughts and opinions are important to us. Your participation in this survey will help us understand how students get to and from school and help work to ensure safe routes to school for every child. EMC Research will also be conducting outreach to parents via land line or cell phone.   2. What will happen with the results of the survey?
    The results of the survey will help us to better understand how students get to and from school and help us ensure safe routes to school for every child. All data will be aggregated for reporting, and all personally identifiable information will be kept confidential and contact information will be deleted upon completion of the survey.  Your response to survey questions, will NOT be shared with the District or any other entities.
  3. Will people be able to see my answers?
    No. Responses will only be reported in summary form and will not be attributed to individuals. EMC Research is a third-party research firm who is administering this scientific study and keep all individual responses and personally identifying information confidential.
  4. When/where can I see the results of the survey?
    Once the survey responses have been collected, EMC Research will compile and analyze the results, keeping all individual responses and personally identifying information completely confidential. Results of the research will be made available upon completion of the study.
